Ducati Scrambler 800 Long Term Review

The Ducati Scrambler 800 is an iconic motorcycle that has been around since the 1960s. It has a long and storied history, from its colorful racing heritage to its current status as a modern classic. But what about how it performs in the real world? We recently spent some time with one to find out.

The Ducati Scrambler 800 is a beautiful bike, no doubt about it. With its classic styling and rugged good looks, it definitely stands out from the crowd. But the real question is, how does it perform when you get it out on the open road? After spending some time with the Ducati Scrambler 800, we can safely say that it is a worthy contender in the mid-sized motorcycle class.

We had the pleasure of testing out the Ducati Scrambler 800 for a few weeks, and here’s what we found out. The bike has a powerful 803cc L-Twin engine that puts out 73 horsepower and 66 Nm of torque. It also features a six-speed gearbox and a dry weight of just 187 kg. This combination gives the bike plenty of power and agility, making it very responsive. Acceleration is smooth and linear, with plenty of torque available to pull you out of corners. The handling is also quite impressive, with light, nimble steering and a surprisingly planted feel at higher speeds.

The Ducati Scrambler 800 also features a number of electronic aids, such as traction control, ride-by-wire, wheelie control and even cornering ABS. All of these features make riding the bike a breeze, especially in tricky conditions.

In terms of comfort, the Ducati Scrambler 800 does a great job. The seat is slightly higher than average for a mid-sized bike, but still comfortable enough for all-day rides. The footpegs are wide and placed at an angle that make them comfortable for both shorter and longer journeys. The handlebars are also placed in a neutral position, allowing for better control and fewer rider fatigue.

One of our favorite features of the Ducati Scrambler 800 is its suspension. It features 43mm upside-down forks with adjustable rebound, compression and preload, as well as a Sachs shock with adjustable rebound and preload. This setup provides a plush ride that is great for long-distance trips.

The braking system on the Ducati Scrambler 800 is also impressive. It has dual 320mm discs up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The brakes offer plenty of power and excellent feedback, allowing you to confidently stop the bike even in tight corners.

Overall, the Ducati Scrambler 800 is a great package. It offers plenty of performance, comfort and safety features, making it a great choice for both experienced and new riders alike. Whether you're looking for a fun weekend ride or a reliable commuting machine, the Ducati Scrambler 800 is worth a close look.
